I try to collect cars but with prices as high as they are now I can't afford to add to my current collection, so I look instead of good deals on bikes which around here are far and few between...not so much the prices, though there is that too, as it is actually finding a decent bike! Last bike I saw was a average condition mid 80's Trek 460 he wanted $500...no way, but that's been about 4 or 5 months ago and nothing before that for about two years ago when I got my Schwinn and Fuji, and nothing since. So vintage bikes around here are difficult to find.

[h=2]MOTOBECANE GRAND RECORD - VERY NICE SHAPE. - $375 (Westminster)[/h]

MOTOBECANE GRAND RECORD - VERY NICE SHAPE. 1973. I am the original owner of this wonderful bike. It is the original paint in the sought-after classic black with red detailing.

Less than 500 miles on it. Has Campagnolo front and rear derailers, Campagnolo front and rear hubs, Universal Super 68 side-pull brakes, Tip-Shifters, TA crank, and the original IDEALE saddle. The Ideale saddle has the alloy frame and is worth a fair bit of money in itself.

This Grand Record is a true work of art!

Recently gone over and tuned by a pro bike shop. New cables and cable sheaths. New tires and pump. New handlebar tape which matches the red trim.

Please call after 9 am and before 10 pm to set up a meeting. Google Voice: 617-615-6702. $375 if you pick it up. Happy Riding!

I'd say so based on the cranks. Of course, the fork is a 'dead' giveaway as well.

I kind of agree. The frame is huge but I was looking close at the rims, they seem to show little break wear, so perhaps this was little used. Maybe in a week or two this would be an excellent chance to score the 'kit' at something like $300-350, then if you can turn the frame on the bay for 200 or so your good. I would imagine this has at least a 172.5 crankset. The holidays are upon us and $300 in cash might be very tempting on Dec 10th.

[h=2]Rare Miyata Tandem - $400 (mechanicsville)[/h]
© craigslist - Map data © OpenStreetMap

If you're not familiar with Miyata bikes they're a Japanese company known for making high end touring bikes. I bought this bike a couple years ago so my wife and I could ride together. It's a lot fun but we just don't have the time to ride anymore. The bike is in great condition. It has new tubes and tires and is ready to ride. I'm not sure how old the bike is in that I also bought it used. The person I bought it from rode it a little with his daughter then put it in storage so the bike doesn't have a lot of miles on it.

Shifters: Shimano Deore

Frame: Steel, TT height is 30inches for the captain, 28 for the stroker. TT length is 22 for the captain.

I can possibly help with delivery after payment if you live within the greater Richmond area.

For a Peter Mooney, that is a very good price. Unfortunately, the bike is built for someone who has the dimensions of T-rex: long legs and very short arms and torso. The top tube is very short relative to the seat tube.

Can anyone in the Portland area help facilitate on this bike? Would need to ship it to the Chicago area.

Thanks in advance.

Dahon Hammer Head (2010) folding minibike road bike - $500 (28th and Broadway)

© craigslist - Map data © OpenStreetMap

As seen here:
https://www.amazon.com/Dahon-DBC126-H...pr_product_top

This bike is not even a full two years old and has been very, very lightly used and then unused. It has an upgraded Brooks leather seat and upgraded to the nice wide Apple tires. The rear tire is flat and may need to be replaced (about 25 bucks). 20 inch tires, 18 speeds, and barely over 20lbs. It's a folder with a simple allen wrench too.

For a bike, this is great. I love it. I just don't really ride. And I need holiday money. As in ASAP. Make me a good offer and bring cash only.

This bike was a grand brand new before upgrades. It is two years old and in very good condition. This is a bike that will get you around, be easy to lift and store and last forever. It has a lifetime warranty from Dahon if you bring it into a Dahon approved shop. So, make me a good and fair offer.
