From this thread: http://bikeforums.net/showthread.php...sh+frames+made "Fetish are decent affordable frames, but most certainly not hand-built. They are all produced in Taiwan and are all machine built. I am not saying that this is a bad thing, I just wanted to clarify. We've been a dealer for Fetish in the past and I didn't want people to get the impression that these were hand built by a US Frame builder or anything. My wife rides an SAC and I used to ride an SAC Aero as a TT bike and neither of us had any complaints." |

While technically true, it does strike me as slightly disingenious. |

More like accidentally intreperted as misleading because people don't know what the definition of crafted is.

I'm not saying they're intentionally trying to deceive the public. It's just a innocent situation that probably only helps their sales and one that they're probably in no hurry to clarify for that reason. |

...i'd probably still get one though. Well, that's one of the sketchy points, relatively. The wheel is this weird road hub, so it's got the QR thing going. Which is still doable, it just can't be no sketchyass QR. And I'm obviously not skidding on this machine or anything. That's a BOB trailer, and the special BOB QR is beefy enough. Going down hills with much weight in the back can get hairy FAST, so right now (and for the foreseeable future) the trailer's just for keeping me a lot less sweaty carrying the guitar/laundry/beer around. But it's great exercise and form practice (esp. keeping the knees in the same vertical plane) to keep constant resistance (and therefore speed) going downhill. And I'm still in FL, whole damn area is flat. So in theory, trailer + fixed should never happen, since the rear axles would be different. But there's only about 43 things on this bike that should never happen, so yeah. I am a nerd. |
