You can wash it like almost any dish but avoid abrasives... this no washing with soap rule stems from the days when soap contained lye which is the best thing for stripping old cast iron.

I give mine a light scrub and a rinse as very little sticks to a well seasoned pan and then give it a light coat of vegetable oil to protect it.

The smaller #3 skillet is going to take a little more work to bring it back to what it is supposed to be... this is a great size for a single breakfast or making bannock so it will get a lot of use.

My wife's father is a serious collector of Griswold cast iron and she knows her stuff... she has a beautiful collection of cast iron pieces and there's a few finds I have yet to restore.

Griswold is the best cast iron you can find with Wagner being a pretty close second.

Today, I came to realization that mint condition suntour superbe pro cranksets are nearly impossible to come by.... they're always beat to hell as my search on ebay and the pair I own.

+1

I'm lazy and I use PAM to coat mine; any spray on cooking oil works as well.

Probably pretty bad - I don't remember what I answered, so I guess I'll just have to wait till June.

Today I wound up having a decent go on the dmr, and tried ergon grips, which I absolutely hated.

Today I decided to ride my 3 speed cruiser, since I was bored and have nothing else to do (and no other bikes at my parents house). This is not a very bike friendly town, cars were getting really close to me (ignoring the 4 foot passing law in PA) and honking. Its really annoying, but I'm used to it I guess, thats just how the people are around here.

The funniest (sort of) thing was while I was riding past the little league baseball fields. A small boy, 8-9 years old, was so bewildered that there was a bicycle riding down the street, that he gazed at me and kept walking... into the street, and an SUV almost nailed him. Its saddening that a kid would be so bewildered at an adult on a bicycle that this could happen.

You would have thought I was riding on a unicorn.

^ oof, that's rough. but yeah, here a bike means you're either poor or lost your license. :/

lost the gamble tonight. 50% chance of rain and i didn't get soaked until the last 2mi from home. still better than not riding.

i was always paranoid of riding in the rain till last week when every day was on and off rain and i really had the itch to ride, so i went anyway and did the longest continuous ride ive done to date
think ive gone 3 days with light rain back to back and its not nearly as bad as i thought, have yet to get caught in a serious downpour yet though

Though downpours do feel good on a hot day.

Though I did one of the most emotionally difficult things of my life today, it was overall a pretty good day. Hung out with a friend that I don't see nearly as often as I'd like, did some riding, ate two completely vegetarian meals, drank some killer local whisky, and watched movies with my wife. Good times.
