Looks like old school 3D w/o glasses to me.

Strange to see people purposely designing things like they used to be wrong a couple... decades... ago.

That said, overall, fantastic paint design, totally want.

aight, if i buy a seat post can you throw it in the bike box or is it separate shipping?

Scrodzilla 02-07-14 12:17 PM

We can include it.

Singlespd 02-07-14 12:55 PM

Does that frame come with 3-D glasses? ;)

Philasteve 02-10-14 04:12 PM

Scrodzilla I know you've gone through a lot of bikes and builds. At this time do you prefer aluminum frames over steel or you have no preference? Just whatever you build up and feels nice is what you go with? I'm just asking because I know you picked your 725 over the bareknuckle which is a frame I def want to build up one day.

The Cinelli lettering on the down tube ****s with my eyes.

It would be alright if I was riding it and couldn't see it. If you were riding it and I had to look at it I would stop at the next bar.

When it comes right down to it, I don't really have a preference.

I still own both my BK (which I absolutely ****ing love) and my 725 and didn't choose one over the other. I did, however, choose to keep my 725 over my Dodici because - even though ride quality was a little better on my Gara - I realized I actually preferred riding the Leader.

Ahhhh. That's what it was the Dodici, I thought it might not have been the BK. Thanks for the answer I know it's apples and oranges just brain storming for a new build with this money i'm getting. I don't want to exclude aluminum altogether.

If you're looking for very tight track geo, a bombproof frameset made of quality steel, a high BB and don't really give a crap about weight, you really can't go wrong with a Bare Knuckle.

How much does one (60cm) weigh? I can't find anything.

If you are tall enough to ride a 60cm bike then weight shouldn't be an issue for you.

To put this into perspective.

Let's take a 20lb bike:
- To a 135lb girl that would be 15% of her body weight.
- To a 175lb guy that would be 11% of his body weight.

11%:

- If a 135lb girl rode a bike that was 11% of her body weight, that bike would be 15lbs.

So, a 20lb bike to a 175lb person is like a 15lb bike for a 135lb person. That means, the bigger you are, the lighter things are to you...relatively speaking.

I haven't the slightest idea. I don't even know how much my 54cm weighs because I don't care enough to have put it on a scale before building it up.

brabham79 02-11-14 11:45 PM

im intrigued by the kagero...not sure why. maybe your studio photographer did a great job. i kinda want one.
i have a bk and a track pro and promised myself i would go custom or even njs (3 rensho perhaps).
but i like the look of that kagero. what are your thoughts??

But how much does a KiloTT weigh?

GENESTARWIND 02-12-14 01:49 AM

15 pounds

Scrodzilla 02-12-14 12:55 PM

Just under.

The Kagero is a great frame made of quality aluminum paired with an Alpina F04 carbon fork. I had one for a while and loved the ride quality but the geo wasn't for me. If the "pursuit"-style thing doesn't float your boat, the Renovatio is pretty much the same frame but with more traditional track geo. If I didn't like my 725 so much, I'd be riding one.

I can remember distinctly that when the Cinelli Strato first sported that caleido livery it was instantly relegated to the jackass thread...

I wanted that one too, but it was too damn pricey. I'm content owning jackass bikes. Haters gonna hate!

Cyril 02-18-14 06:58 AM

So, what's the word on the Leader eqnx? I can't find any helpful reviews on line...too new, I guess.
I'm looking for something for the track next winter, but any bike I own will sooner or later be pressed into street service.
Brevets and such are my main thing.
Worth the money?
Lugged carbon seems to me to be a step backwards, but I could be wrong.
Comments?

Scrodzilla 02-18-14 10:17 AM

As I was informed by a reliable source at Parlee Cycles, many "full carbon" frames use aluminum lugs. The difference is that Leader left them exposed instead of wrapping them in carbon, which prevents the EQNX from being a $2000 frame.

I haven't ridden one but it looks like an extremely well made frame. Alonso who rides for Leader beats the **** out of his racing on the street and his is holding up just fine.

Cyril 02-18-14 11:34 AM

Didn't know that about many ' full carbon frames'.
Looks like the eqnx is my N+1 unless something comes up before next fall.
Thank you.

I picked up a Weinmann dp18 on the cheap, but it's got a horrible/cheap green paintjob. Any suggestions for removing it without ruining what's under there? I was gonna go at it "lightly" with some medium grit sandpaper. Here are some pics for reference.
