Sold my bike today and got paid from my ex delivery job which means I now have enough for this steal of a deal: High End Fixed Bicycle, Nitto, San Marco, Mavic, Deda, Gatorskin tires

Kidding, looks like screamer of a deal. Happy riding.

Haha I'll probably end up trading the bars for dedas. But yeah that's like $700 of bike right there. The front wheel and saddle alone are worth the cost of the bike.

FWIW, my total investment in the first bike is only $280 and not much more in the second one.
IDK, man. Seems like some of the components are better than the frame and fork, but overall it's nothing special. I know, 'cuz I've got two of those $300 BD Chinese generic chromo bikes (Windsor Clockwork and Motobecane Messenger), and while they are certainly better than a heavy hi-ten bike, they are nothing special. The Lasco cranks are low end Chinese stuff, adequate but no more. If it were me, I'd get something with a better frame, and upgrade components. Here's basically what you are getting, except of course in a larger size:

Well, not bad perhaps, but we are talking here about a used bike, so you can't exactly compare it to the price of a new bike. Even with those few upgrades, you are still talking about a pretty low end frame, which is why I haven't put a lot of money into mine.
Speaking of beards, I'm glad I'm not the only one with beard problems. By the way, right now is the first time in my life I've let my facial hair grow out and I'm 26 now. I don't like facial hair but I'm more curious to see what mine looks like. My goatee and stash seem to be coming in nice but the rest of my beard is seriously lacking and patchy. Not to mention I have literally no hair where sideburns are supposed to grow.
I've been growing it maybe 9 days. I am going to let it grow more but I can't wait to shave it.

A lot of people's beards are patchy when they are growing in. I know mine is -- I typically trim it with an attachment for the first couple of weeks. Only after about a month does it look full and even enough that I can relax and just trim the edges.
**** that I ain't waiting a month. lol. Am I the only one who feels really dirty with facial hair? I keep washing my face but constantly feel gross.
And is that how it works? Guys with patchy beards let them grow out... So the longer hair can cover the areas that don't grow hair, making the beard look fuller?

It takes a while for the itchy unpleasant feeling to go away. A month should probably do it. But then sneezing is still never fun.
At work the company is finally allowing beards after 40 years of the no beard policy. I swear every single guy has a beard growing right now. Some are keeping it nice and groomed, others are just letting it be a free for all. It's so gross.
re: beards
i dont have a particularly dense beard, my 5 oclock shadow game is weak. i wish it were more dense cuz i love that look, but after letting it grow youd never know it.
i have the opposite problem with acne. i have extremely sensitive skin so shaving irritates it a LOT and makes me break out. when im clean shaven i break out super easily, i dont know the last time i had a pimple or blackhead since growing the beard out.
when i shave i look much younger than i am, people consistently estimate my age about a decade younger, with the beard i "look my age"
the most difficult part i find is letting the stache grow over your lip, drinking and eating guarantees stuff getting in it, the hairs can get in each others mouths when kissing your SO
you need to take care of it, trim it so its neat, comb that **** and keep it clean and conditioned/oiled. a neat but big full beard is infinitely better than one that makes you look like a homeless animal that lives under a bridge.
/edit: didnt we have a facial hair thread?

Yesterday, I went to the Bicycle Museum in New Bremen Ohio. Pretty cool. Lack of track bikes though. But still pretty cool. In the middle of NOWHERE. Then i went down the road to the Airstream factory, for a tour. That was also very cool.

The itchiness may go away. But the annoyance is still there.
Start a beard thread. Oh, wait, there's a bunch of them already.

Yesterday I spent six hours cleaning '70s Chicago Slag off of hairnet 's beach-cruiser-to-be. Grinding, filing, more grinding, more filing, sanding, and more sanding. Oh, and lots of "Drewing".
