Ahhh, OK,

I really like going to the lake but that road is so rough, the downhill is not all that enjoyable.

On the good news front, Torrey Road south of 126 (as it crosses the Santa Clara River) is paved. It has been for a while, I just thought of it and share in case people stopped taking that route.

11/10/07 Sat. ride; I Upload the few photos I took at the start and rest-stop-1 (at the Vons) in the route/map page of the level 5 (#214)
Most of the people in the photos didn't do this route, yet is the place to see the photos.
Many did the level 4 which I didn't even maped... and at the start you can allways see many more that did other routes too.

As usual, here is one:

Yeah, the pessimist in me says they did it just for the Tour of California. :D

No matter to me, I am just glad they did it. Hey, I think I will go to Piru this week, I got in the mood.

I'll be there. I vote for the Two Topanga Tops, but we'll see what everyone else wants.

VanceMac 11-12-07 12:43 AM

I can't make it tomorrow, but you'll have a good turnout for sure. Let us know how the ride(s) go.

I will be doing Mt Wilson with a couple others on Tuesday, if anyone is interested... as well as the reg Wed ride.

urbanknight 11-12-07 12:55 AM

We civil servants have to work on Tuesday, but have fun! The weather looks pretty promising for the next few days.

And I'm only up right now because I'm about to put the laundry in the dryer. That's right Oleg, I do laundry. Go ahead, get it out of your system.

I still want to hear what happened to Ovo on Saturday. He's the only guy I know who can talk smack as he is bailing out on mile 8. :p

urbanknight 11-12-07 01:03 AM

He must have had to go do manly things... like shave his legs.

urbanknight 11-12-07 08:48 AM

Hey I just thought about this, but where do you park on weekdays? I don't think the no parking before 9am sign has an exception for holidays. Eh, if I don't get a response I'll just bring a few $ to buy a pass.

I am more wiped out than after last week's simi ride. The weather was amazing... just perfect. And the scenery makes for an outstanding ride, once you get out of the valley.

You know, things rarely work out the way I'd like them to, and that ride was no exception.
I got home with 113 miles, completely toasted, trashed.

mkadam68 11-12-07 05:23 PM

Hey, if any o' y'all see Karen (South Africa?) on Wed's ride, she was going to give AJ & me a ride back to the car. She did a quick little errand first, though, and then I think we missed each other. AJ & I got home fine (he handled the remaining 10 miles wonderfully). He did 62 miles today--his longest ever! And had been sick all week to boot.

VanceMac 11-12-07 05:27 PM

Sent you PM, Mark. And great job to AJ!

that wasn't mile 8...

Sorry Vance, I can't help it if I drop you so easily...

Actually that guy in the Giant kit tried on that little climb, I kept going faster and faster, he got on the side and then I upshifted like 4 times and started sprinting. I was toasting myself but I blew him up and then he fell allllllllllll the way back. It was funny.

I told you, I had to go to San Diego and be there around 2pm.

Next time can you not get dropped so easily?

Hey Mark,

Karen said she was going to wait for you guys in the lot at VC.... I'm surprised there was no connection. Thanks for being the sherpa today....I think we should have given those other riders a little idea of the ride tempo- we did a pretty long regroup at the top of Mureau but I needed to get to work so Blazhe, Mark, Marc, Caren, Rich, and I took off... Kudos to AJ- his longest ride when he was feeling punk... that's a character building event!

urbanknight 11-13-07 12:25 AM

The ride today was great. I was still a little wiped from Saturday, but Mark, AJ, Lynn, and Juan Carlos were also taking a moderate tempo. AJ was at my heels the whole way up Agoura Rd and Mureau Rd. I hope Lynn can get her wheel repaired/replaced.

Oh that's right, you rode from home. Mile 8.5 then.
(Yes, I actually looked at my computer when I saw you coming the other way and it said 8.1 miles. I suppose you and your awesomeness could have gotten ahead of me and did 10 miles done before you turned around)

I swam 2 miles that day too and drank 10 shots...

Mile 8.5 is how I roll baby

urbanknight 11-13-07 12:55 AM

Ya got me there. I'd drown trying to swim 2 miles. As for 10 shots, that depends on what.

Except one of us listens to her doctor, and the other doesn't have one, so he feels fine ignoring the doctor.

cuda2k 11-14-07 01:52 PM

Damn I hope my hip gets feeling better by the end of next week so I'm good to ride with you all while I'm out there. I did something to it last weekend, think my right cleat's position is all screwed up. Must get that looked at asap!
