I found that over the last year I am able to push my HR into the 170s for less than 30 seconds and don’t suffer. Some times I am surprised that I hit the low 180s momentarily and don’t feel like crap. A couple of years ago, hit the 180s would leave me totally out of breath and feeling gassed. And I thought with fitness I should be able to push more at a lower HR?

My biggest bet was buying 1000 AAPL in 1995, when the company's continued existence was in doubt.
My biggest regret was reducing my shares of AAPL as the price rose, because I feared losing the gains in a downturn. Every time the price doubled, I sold half.
After all the stock splits, those 1000 shares would now be 112,000 shares.

It feels like my aerobic capacity is greater than it used to be, even back in 2021-2024, when I was riding at least as much as I am now, as well as doing more structured workouts and races on Zwift, where I was routinely hitting 170s. If my AT really is 161, I'm able to do the same efforts that used to push me over AT without exceeding the 150s. I dunno. I've stopped "riding to train", mostly because I was training to ride, and now I just ride to ride and I seem to be able to do whatever I want to do. See what I mean?

Accumulate the winners, sell the losers. Or as some investing sage once said, trim your losses and let your profits run.

Been gone all day and just read through Affliction since early morning. I'll never again wonder why their is no female interaction in Affliction.

Because road cycling as a hobby is ~ 85/15 males, and because forum users tend to be 80/20 males?

I just got back from a fancy mall in Scottsdale, looking to chance upon a kept man situationship, but the only good vibes I got were from a twenty something barista and a granny pushing a baby around in a stroller.
I was also hoping for some supercar sightings but today's action was primarily SUVs and crossovers.
The only eye-catching car was this MBAOTD:

Mondays are the only day of the week on which I never ride, so even in retirement, Mondays are different. Since I don't ride, that's often when I do stuff like mowing the lawns, or doing laundry, or both.

rolled up my sleeves and helped one of my chemists prep a reaction in the lab to avoid being behind schedule. time was running short. felt good to get in the lab and "touch grass" as the kids call it

For those with Strava, do a member search on Ho Lee F _ _. ( two letters). And see who pops up from Australia and other parts.
