Wow, I stopped watching after Sanchez and Menchov came in. Horner is now the lead Radioshack GC guy, even after hanging back to pace Lance a day or two.

I think I like Lake cycling shoes. The Sidi Mega's just weren't Mega enough for my old duck feet. I will have to get used to that Boa lacing set-up though.

Don't put me in the butt-licking group. If he didn't have good information, why would all you farksticks ask him so many questions? Giving credit where credit is due.

Why'd you buy a titanium bike?

quite a silly reason actually. I wanted to get new wheels for my carbon bike which I only started riding last year. When i got the wheels I had spare wheels, the bad ones, so i started looking for a cheapo frame to use the wheels then just when i thought i found the frame (it had to be cheap as an extra bike) i saw the deal on the Ti at pbk from a link here so i thoughtanother carbon is more of the same but a ti can be long term and different and can be ridden in winter.

I was wondering if it was possible to write a longer run-on sentence.

Your bike schwag reasoning seems logical.

Carbon can be ridden in winter. Aluminum can be ridden in winter. Heck, so can steel (JP Weigle Framesaver).

Just saying...

More bike parts are better than less bike parts?

Correct.

coasting 07-22-10 12:14 PM

i like the ride quality of both the bikes and now i've got a good bit of feedback on the characteristics of both, they fit different kinds of rides. The ti for long plodding distance rides and the lighter carbon with th stiff wheels for shorter intense rides with steeper climbing.

more is more variety = better

The degree to which the people running the State of NY are complete and utter friggin imbeciles can never be overstated.

Trust me on this. Another $200+ assessment to NY Sales Tax today. The problem is they are absolutely correct. The part they don't seem to get is that when the collection of a tax is largely dependent upon taxpayer voluntary compliance, pissing off those payees with unreasonable penalties is probably a bad idea, since it would be so easy to stop collecting said tax, and still remain in full compliance with the law. Let alone those who just stop complying, good luck catching all of them. Not that I would ever actually contemplate such an illegal move.

Maybe they should ask the friggin Russians about what happens when a tax system has no voluntary compliance. It's hard to run a government without money. And there aren't enough auditors on the planet to compensate when that happens.

By the way, this recent error does appear to have triggered an automatic audit of 10+ years of quarterly sales tax returns. They found one $17 error over those 40+ returns. They billed me for that too. Friggin aholes that they are.

coasting 07-22-10 12:22 PM

$17? They can be certain of that small an amount? If you declare sales of $x because you issued $x invoices, they have to go though and reconcile all your cash accounts to verify that. are they really doing crap like that?

By the way, VAT inspections scare the bejesus out of any business here. i had an inspection once...just randomly picked. i was sweating bricks.

I thought titanium bikes were for old people.

I was once audited for an underpayment of estimated taxes from several years prior for something like 80 and change, as in $80.xx. I paid the fine and moved on.

I was impressed that they spent the time to go after the $80 which I might not have underpaid.

Yes.

It actually impresses me. I don't have the time to be bothered going through my records for amounts like that.
