Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Geez, don't you get enough here? By comparison, ultra-g was pretty tame. Sounded like he could be a good b!tcher at a drinking session, though. Knew enough to know that we aren't all enamoured of little Johnnie Howard. Anyway, who'd you vote for in the election (No, don't answer it... just rhetorical)

Yeah, something about fat Asians in Central Park, meeting up (an invitation for some fisticuffs) and a big jibe about someone being ripped off by buying a Litespeed that had been collecting dust in an LBS basement for two years. Funny and sad in its own way.

Nope, you'd be visiting me in hospital if I wasn't wearing me lid. Head went from 20kph to ZERO in a very short period in time.

And Hitchy, all will be forgiven if your next new frame is a Thylacine Tephra Ti But either way, I reserve the right to whinge like a girl for the rest of the week.

Spewin I missed this slvoid stouch, I love a good 'Net brawl.

Aussies are playing slower than a lobotomised imbecile on mandrax: Current Partnership: 9 runs, 5.0 overs, RR: 1.80 103/1 (Langer 46)

Maybe Pointing' hoping to bore the Kiwi's into submission.

Yeah, that's been "sanctified".

Best thread for ages; I'll try to "succinctify" it for yooz (i've got 20 mins to kill ):

It seems that Ultra-g and Slvoid both live in New York and go to the same
bike shop -- Ultra-g also used to work there. After chatting to the guys at the shop, Slvoid
was under the impression that Ultra-g left the job without telling the boss, and
he also seemed to think that Ultra-g had taken a second hand seat without paying for it.

I gather that Ultra-g was in the shop one day, and the guys told him that Slvoid had 'dissed'
him -- Ultra-g was not happy. SO, on the thread that Hitchy posted, Ultra-g said
something like: "by the way, thanks for dissing me at the shop; you have no idea what you're talking about, and it's none of your fukin business anyway."

Slvoid reply by actually accusing Ultra-g of stealing the seat, and walking out on
the job at the bike shop without telling them, and said; "the next time I see a fat Asian
guy in Central Park, it'll be 'on'!!

Ultra-g basically said: "how 'bout it? The guys at the shop have got my number -- give me a call"

It seems Slvoid wasn't interested in catching up, and was ignoring Ultra-g's private messages.
SO......in a seemingly desperate effort to contact Slvoid, Ultra'g actually starts a new thread, titled: "Hey Slvoid, read this". In this thread, Ultra-g posted a very long message to Slvoid, basically telling him that he was a fukn idiot, and:
"any time you wanna catch up in Central Park, I'll fukn 'school'
you on the bike. The guys at the shop think you're a fukn idiot, and that Litespeed they sold
you was a fukn lemon that was in the basement for 2 years. And you call me fat? What about
your fkn girlfriend....."

blah blah.

I know -- they're going at about 2.7 runs an over.

You see the Seinfeld "doco" on Friday night at 7:30? Awesome! I'm taping copies for me mates.

Larry David came across as a good bloke, but Michael Richards seems like a bit of a tosser

Yeah...saw bits. I bought the series 1,2 & 3 on DVD. There is a good "notes about nothing" feature you can turn on that puts episode info onto the screen like subtitles. Very informative.

It really is orange, ain't it?

I was very surprised by how light it was for a big steel bike. It's much lighter than mine, yeah?

Does it have any "special" light components like a BB, or anything?

......the seat is to high

but seriously, it feels nice & firm in the front end...'goes where you point it', which I like. as i mentioned, not unlike the feel of the 486 (sob)....I could live with it if it was lighter....what does it weigh.?.....was hard to judge when I was lifting it off ya!......also the colour clashed with the road surface!...looks much better standing up than lying down......LOL

Match State: Lunch - Day 4 [Bulletin]

That ends a rather subdued and frankly dull session
Australia just using the first two hours for play to slowly and
steadily increase their lead
Normally with this sort of lead we see an Australian side going out
all guns blazing
The current 459 run lead looks well beyond the visitors
Hopefully we'll see some fireworks and a declaration after the break
