trust me. i rode on a suicide hub that i fixed using jb weld. worked awesome.
this is after loctite failed for me, both colors.

and that's only from light use.

campy straps are so much better, but are also three times the cost.

answer: no. track cranks AND road doubles will both give you good chainline. as previously stated it all depends what bottom bracket width you choose to match the chainline specified for your hubs.
