Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm not sure. Possibly a very, very few were converted. But you don't have to convert a left hand drive car, van or 4wd to right hand drive if the vehicle is over 20 years old, or if it is newer and meets certain other criteria, to legally use a car on the roads here

so, that’s something that hasn’t happened to me in close to 10 years. either a fluke, i really screwed up my meds, or the underlying disease getting worse. if the latter, the question is, is it from the increased exercise (cycling) or just natural progression. doctors unfortunately won’t be able to answer any of those questions.

best case scenario - a fluke, med mixup, or very rare event, and i just go back to the kind of riding i’ve been doing and enjoying with a little more caution about remote areas or roads without a good bail out option.

worst case scenario - a new “bad circuit” in the heart caused by the cycling which can’t be fixed, no more cycling and the likelihood of future “episodes” from the new problem.

i think the best case is more likely, and there are a bunch of in-between options.

Interesting. I never considered the law. I don't know if there are laws about RHD cars here. I see them sometimes.

I'll hope for the fluke.

I knew what you meant, but had to grab the low hanging fruit!

I've driven right hand drive cars in English countries/territories, and it's not so bad once you get used to it. It's just the opposite of our programmed thinking. For example, there are a number of round-abouts in our neighborhood that you take to the right. When driving on the left side, you take them to the left. Takes about two days before it becomes somewhat ingrained.

Driving a left hand drive car in a county that drives on the left is a whole different taco.

My late brother rode motorcycles in different parts of the world. He went to New Zealand as part of a BMW owner's touring group. He said he couldn't get used to going around a corner in the left lane on a twisty mountain road. He also rode in Japan.

Reminds me of having pork chops at our favorite Mexican restaurant which we haven't been to in 3 years. Chuletas de Puerco, grilled with their own seasoning. Mrs John always ordered the grilled trout, it was also excellent. We heard the place has changed after c19 but we haven't checked yet.

Saw one in Boston about a year ago. Stopped to admire along with another passerby.

My boss bought a new one when they came out, 1981, I think. He was in a DeLorean club so we worked on them. They were definitely not fast but fun to drive. I drove my boss' through Malibu Canyon to the beach and back and really enjoyed it.

Two of our customers had their cars painted, one red and one black. I don't know how they made the paint stick to the stainless steel but it looked great.
