Today I discovered that Comcast no longer carries Universal Sports -- even with the extra "sports package" we pay for to get add'l sports channels -- so I don't get to watch the Giro d'Italia. (Unless I want to pay $20 to watch it online.) #sadface

Yeah, they got rid of it the First of January, I believe. Sucks.

RCN did too. No more cycling, no more curling. Literally the only two sports I watch.

Road is pretty boring IMO. Crit is cool, but just the start and finish. Track is always fun to watch. mtb is neat occasionally, CX was badass, but they never really aired it.

Road is extremely boring if it wasn't for the commentators babbling about irrelevant stuff.

Track is the best to watch.

This, too.

They randomly moved the only channels I watched to a more premium package here. I called to ***** (in month 1 of a 12 month promotion renewal) and all they tried to do was upsale me, even the 'customer care'. I loathe these mfers

Wow, the announcer said it best: "How does he sit down with balls that big?!?!?"

Hmm, I enjoy watching road racing, and that I'm in Europe for the summer I actually get to see some of it televised. I didn't go ride today cause it rained all day, and was able to relax and watch the entire Giro d'italia.

I love watching road cycling. Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwin are continuously running commentary in my head when I'm riding alone. "I think she's cracked, Phil!"

I love watching it too. Omg, Roubaix was so crazy to watch, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time when they went through Arenberg.

I was completely in awe when Hoy moved from the inside and totally thought he was going to go down.

I think a lot of sports can seem boring if you don't watch them regularly, because there can be subtle strategy stuff that (to me) is really interesting but takes some time to understand. I don't watch track so I don't understand some of the events, and the few events I've watched haven't even had announcers so there were no explanations about what was going on.

Hell, I was watching a lot of snooker (a confusing billiards game) the past couple weeks and I never would have thought I'd find that interesting, but it was.

What I love about road cycling is the weird combination of a team sport with individual winners, the strategy that evolves as a result, and the feats of individual greatness/heart/all that schlocky sports stuff. I love some of the personalities, and Andy Schleck is dreamy (LOL). A lot of the pros are on Twitter too -- really them, not handlers or agents -- and it's cool the way they just tweet about whatever and it makes them seem more real and gives me people to root for.

I hate that drugs continue to mar the sport, though.

after seeing the races cut w/ cockpit footage, i'm addicted to air racing (Red Bull series). overpowered prop planes and 9G turns, yes please.

Today I cleaned out, re-surfaced, and re-greased my 6 speed freewheel. Despite warnings from Sheldon Brown and many others about this being so tricky that it wouldn't be worth it, it really wasn't too bad at all. Just about fifty 1/8" bearings to keep track of lol. Now my Raleigh coasts like new!

(stock photo, but looked similar)
