Would any of you blokes buy a LeMond?
I found out yesterday that my LBS can order me a 2005 'Chambery' at $2750. (They're usually a Specialized and Avanti dealer only) Anyone seen one at their local, know how heavy it is or seen any photos of it other than the official LeMond pics.

What's the draw? He's put his name on some pretty questionable stuff in the last few years.

I haven't seen one, but being alu/carbon, with new Ultegra and those wheels, it would have to
be under 9kg.

For what it's worth I bought a Lemond Nevada City (the lowest of the low-end) six months ago 'cos that's what my LBS recommended. I've had no problems with it that weren't caused by rider error or deer being where they really shouldn't be.

There is also the Orbea 'Liege S' weighs 8.7kg, has a similar spec at $3750 retail. The LeMond retails for $3000 I think.

Dare I chime in here and say: "Check your body weight on the scales first if bike weight is you only criterion".

I agree.
I'm not a weight weenie, but in this day and age there's no need to hack around
on a >10kg bike.

Did you follow thru on those Neuvation wheels? I'm still interested in them as they look like they could be a reasonable training wheel for the price.

You know, I knew I got up at 7am for a reason this morning.....so I could wade through 5 pages of this thread! And the farker is moved to the Foo page? WTF? Anyway, that could mean we'll get less roadies throwing in their 2 cents and more commentary from the 'other denominations', which might be a good thing. You know, just for balance. And stuff.
I hear there were some Pros on the Hell Ride this weekend. A guy who comes into the soup kitchen I volunteer at on Sundays ( yes, an open grade racer who rides a C40 who eats at a soup kitchen - I sh¡t you not ) said Baden Cooke and a couple of other pros were there having a dig. Did you see any of them, Hitchy? Apparently they're here for Xmas and the Suntour or some such....and apparently sprinters like Cookie are actually running 53t big rigs. 53-11alltheway must be sobbing in his beer right about now. Poor *unt.
Anyway....err......I have nothing else to add. Brain's suffering from Mondayitis. Might chime back in once the coffee has kicked in........

Hey climbo, I did the ride from North Sydney to Gosford yesterday and it's not too bad.
There are loads of little climbs out of North Sydney all the way to Berowra. Most of them have little kickers at the top of them which adds a bit of ache in the legs later on. After Cowan there's a nastee little 500m climb just before Pie in the Sky. After that you have the spectacular downhill to Hawksbury River. Long steady climb up to Calga, then fast down to Mooney Ck, another long, steady climb up to Somersby and your there.
There weren't too many motorbikes out (<9am) but we still got passed by a few + 1 impatient car. A guy died at Somesby later on in the day. Came off his motorbike on a bend. So early is good, aim to get to to Kariong by 8:30am on a weekend. It should take you about 2hrs solo from the top of Pymble hill.
